BOROUGH TAX
COLLECTOR NEEDED
Clarks Summits Borough Council is seeking applicants for appointment to the position of Borough Tax
Collector on an interim basis. This interim appointment would run through December 31, 2019. The
office of Tax Collector will be on the ballot during the 2019 municipal election. Applicants for the interim appointment are not required to be a candidate for the position in the 2019 election; however, the
Borough Council will give favorable consideration to an applicant who commits to being elected as Tax Collector in the 2019 election.
In order to be eligible for the
appointment, applicants must have resided in the Borough of Clarks Summit since October 30, 2017 and be a registered voter. Applicants must agree to be bonded upon his/her appointment.
Compensation for the position is based on amount/number of taxes collected. The previous Tax
Collectors annual compensation was approximately $26,500.00.
Position is considered part-time and with the ability to work from home. For additional
