Front End Web
Developer /
Jr. Systems Engineer
In this role you will develop, analyze, design and implement Web solutions. You will also work with staff and vendors to create technical approaches for Times-Shamrock business solutions.
Additional responsibilities include the support of the applications and software used by staff across the Times-Shamrock corporate locations from across northeastern Pennsylvania. This includes, but is not limited to; learning and supporting our centralized systems related to our editorial, advertising, finance, production, information security, general networking, and telecommunications systems. Times-Shamrock Information Technology also works closely with our digital billboard and radio groups in supporting those divisions nationwide.
The position requires:
Degree in information technology or design, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum three years industry/field specific experience. Minimum of one year of front-end development
Proficiency with JavaScript (with and without jQuery), CSS3, AJAX and HTML5
Creative problem solving skills, Self-assessing & correcting work without impacting project schedules
Ability to translate Photoshop designs into HTML & CSS
Understanding of browser compatibility issues with experience in responsive design for Mobile
Obsessive attention to detail
Effective communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Switching gears quickly while juggling multiple concurrent projects
Being proactive in resolving project roadblocks, keeping deadlines on track
Staying current with tools and resources of the industry
Any of these skills are also a plus for this role:
Proficiency in UI & UX design
Experience using development tools such as Visual Studio,
Programming with ASP.NET (C#)
Database skills (MS-SQL, ORACLE)
Experience with CMS systems like Wordpress and Polopoly
Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, experience with Microsoft Server, IIS and Linux
The successful candidate must have strong application troubleshooting abilities as well as excellent customer service skills. There is also a rotating on-call schedule that is required. Salary commensurate with
