Borough Manager Position
The Borough of Olyphant, Lackawanna County Pennsylvania has a population of approximately 5,400, is a full service Borough and seeks an experienced Administrator to serve as Borough Manager. The Borough Manager supervises and directs all day-to-day operations of the Borough and coordinates with the seven member Borough Council and Mayor, Borough Staff and the Community. Olyphant Borough is located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania approximately 5 miles from the City of Scranton, PA. The Borough of Olyphant operates an annual municipal budget of $3,800,000.00 exclusive of additional grants, loans or other non-reoccurring revenue streams and is supported by the Olyphant Borough Electric Department Budget in the amount of $4,300,000.00. The Borough has 13 full-time and 2 part-time employees, appointed professional personnel and seasonal employees for Parks and Recreation. The Borough also has a Police Department with a full-time Chief and 10 full-time Police Officers and the overall financial condition of the Borough is good. Olyphant Borough Council desires proposals from persons having outstanding communicative abilities, innovative qualities and a demonstrated skill in community engagement. Candidates should have some municipal management experience, knowledge of modern local government management principles, strong financial planning skills and a general knowledge of local government public service operations. A combination of education and experience will be weighted heavily in the selection process. Interviews are intended to be conducted for candidates deemed qualified by Olyphant Borough Council.
