Director/Program Manager

Telespond Senior Day Services, located in Scranton, PA is currently seeking a full-time Director/Program Manager to lead the Senior Companion Program. Funded by AmeriCorps, the program connects volunteers ages 55+ with older adults in need of assistance and companionship. Responsibilities of the position include:
• Operations planning and develop ment, including: volunteer recruitment, training and management; in-home client evaluations and client-volunteer matching; staff hiring and supervision; development and maintenance of program records and reports; management of the programs advisory board
• Active involvement with community partners and national service organizations, including federal and state AmeriCorps staff and fellow program directors
• Implementation of performance measures, evaluation protocols, and requirements as designated by Telespond and AmeriCorps
• Facilitation of recognition of program volunteers and contributors

Preferred candidates hold a bachelors degree and 2+ years experience in human services. Excellent oral communications skills, experience working with volunteers and community organizations and/or managing grants also preferred. Computer literacy and management skills are a must. Travel within Lackawanna County required. Applicants should have genuine concern, understanding and sensitivity to older adults and their needs.
